Job Summary

The Department of Civil, Environmental & Architectural Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to develop methods to quantify loads for design of buildings that incorporate projections of how climate change has and will affect environmental hazards. This postdoctoral scholar will evaluate the consequences of considering climate change in these loads by measuring how loads that consider climate change alter structural design of buildings and evaluating the extent to which these design loads reduce risks of failure and disruption in extreme events. The primary goal is to develop metrics of the impact of newly proposed design loads to provide information to building code committees considering adopting these loads.
The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment. We are an Equal Opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
