The Boulder Faculty Assembly (BFA) seeks applications for a BFA Coordinator! The coordinator supports the BFA officers and coordinates Executive Committee and General Assembly meetings. The position additionally coordinates processes for the faculty Excellence Awards, and is responsible for general office functions. Who We Are
The BFA is the representative body of the faculty in the shared governance of the CU Boulder campus. A guiding principle of that shared governance, recognized by the Board of Regents of the University of Colorado, is that the faculty and the administration shall collaborate in major decisions affecting the welfare of the University. In practice, the BFA has primary responsibility for setting academic policy and is expected to advise the administration on other policies.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
BFA Officer Support Provide administrative support to the BFA Officers (BFA Chair, BFA Chair-Elect, BFA Immediate Past Chair, and BFA Parliamentarian & Bylaws and Elections Chair regarding their faculty governance duties/roles. Such support includes but is not limited to:
- Calendar management for the Chair and Chair-Elect related to BFA, campus & system faculty shared governance, and committees/groups they sit on such as:
- Dean's Council.
- Chairs & Directors meetings.
- Chancellor's Shared Governance Committee and other groups in the Chancellor's cabinet such as the CFO, CIO, SVCs for Operations, Research, etc.
- Monthly meetings with Academic Affairs leadership including the Provost and the Sr. Vice Provost for Academic Planning & Assessment, and VC for Academic Resource Management.
- Meetings as requested by CU System including President, VP Academic Affairs, and with campus College/School faculty council meetings.
- Attend weekly ExCom meetings.
- At the direction of the BFA chair prepare weekly agendas, book speakers, and coordinate presentations and digital handouts in a shared folder. Create Outlook calendar invites.
- Additionally, this position records, submits, and archives meeting minutes.
- At the direction of the BFA Parliamentarian & Bylaws and Election Chair, maintain the ExCom roster and listservs (full and voting).
- Coordinate room reservations, Zoom/AV needs, and refreshments with the Chancellor's event team.
- Meeting logistics: assist in planning and organizing the agenda for meetings of the BFA assembly including scheduling speakers. Attend all meetings and disseminate meeting communication support (Google Drive electronic handouts; meeting minutes, meeting summary, with handouts, etc.).
- Membership management - maintain accurate BFA representative, liaison and attendance tracking for final approval by the BFA Parliamentarian & Bylaws and Elections Chair. Manage all BFA Officer and At-Large election processes with approval by the BFA Parliamentarian & Bylaws and Elections Chair including campus communications and Qualtrics survey elections.
- Maintain a comprehensive record of Assembly meeting minutes, motions, resolutions, etc., and ensure that these items are disseminated to representatives and made available to faculty on the BFA website.
- Assist BFA Chair in communicating the results of BFA actions, resolutions, and other appropriate information to appropriate campus administrators.
- Coordinate room reservations and refreshments with the Chancellor's event team and approval of BFA Chair.
- Manage selection processes for BFA Excellence Awards as determined by the BFA Chair and Executive Committee. Be responsible for all campus communications related to the awards and selection process coordination. Maintain accurate records of the Excellence Award winners and selection committee members.
- Work closely with the Chancellor's Office event personnel in coordinating the Excellence Awards Ceremony featuring the Hazel Barnes Award winner keynote.
- Organize the BFA office space including office supplies, IT and computer needs, furniture, etc.
- Assist the BFA Chair, BFA Officers, and the Budget, Financial and Personnel assistant in the Office of the Chancellor regarding annual budget requests and monthly finance/procurement reports.
What You Should Know
- The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday between 9 am and 6 pm.
- This position offers a hybrid work modality including 2-3 days of in-person work per week and 2-3 days of remote work per week depending on the time of the academic year.
- This position requires in-person availability on Mondays and Thursdays until 6 pm when regularly scheduled BFA Executive Committee and General Assembly meetings occur.
What We Can Offer
- The hiring range for this position is $48,000 - $58,000.

- Bachelor's Degree and 1+ years of relevant professional experience.
