In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary
The Financial Aid Scholarship and Counseling Lead oversees scholarship programs, provides expert guidance to the financial aid counseling team, and ensures compliance with institutional, state, and federal financial aid regulations. The position requires mentorship and coaching skills, in-depth knowledge of financial aid processes, and a strong ability to collaborate with other departments to support student success. This position reports to the Director of Financial Aid.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of scholarship programs, financial aid regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial aid concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with financial aid management systems and databases.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, with a focus on professional development and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Education, Finance).
- Five years of experience in financial aid, with one year in a leadership role
Preferred Qualifications
- Master degree in a related field
- Seven years of experience in financial aid, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
