Job Description
The Office of the Visitors Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Coordinator, Vol Team position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to enhance the accessibility of higher education, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment, and improving the recruitment and graduation of our students. The target starting salary for this position is $41,000 - $45,000, depending on experience and qualifications.


Responsibilities
This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.

While upholding the integrity of the University and Volunteer creed, this position is responsible for supervision of a team of student recruiters and encouraging top performance, encouraging professional development, reinforcing organizational and institutional vision as the Visitors Center team contributes to broad divisional and University goals. Works collaboratively with the Associate Director for Student Programs, the Director of the Visitor Center, and the Visitor Center team in determining goals, objectives, and activities of all Volunteer Team partnership opportunities. Provide leadership, training, mentoring and direction to a staff of student recruiters. Determines goals and objectives of partnership opportunities with UT Athletics and Football Recruiting office. This position requires monitoring of NCAA rules and regulations and requires critical thinking, and decision making to ensure program compliance. Will make recommendations for improvement to Volunteer Team partnership opportunities and the VolCorps organization. Work closely with the entire Visitors Center staff on executing new and innovative strategies to improve the partnership and event experience.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree

2 years of relevant experience working in Admissions or similar offices on a College campus, including student employee experience.

Experience working with student groups in a recruitment or admissions type experience; experience working with different audiences including faculty, staff, students, students' families, and the general public.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Master's degree

Experience working in athletics or in a high-pressure environment.

Experience or knowledge of event planning and management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge and experience with student recruitment and enrollment processes.

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, specifically regarding the areas of football, recruiting and student hosts.

Demonstrated understanding of diversity working with staff and students.

Exceptional organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and flourish in a high stakes pressurized environment.

Excellent writing and interpersonal presentation skills.

Knowledge Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms.

Presentation and customer service skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience working with events and excellent planning and organization skills.

Ability to work with new technologies.

Knowledge of university travel policies.

Knowledge of and experience using and managing social media platforms.
