Job Description
The University of Tennessee's Career Gateway is looking to fill the temporary assignment of Administrative Associate with the Haslam College of Business. Through temporary assignment placements, Career Gateway allows the opportunity to work with various departments while gaining valuable work experience. Each assignment has differing pay rates, work schedules, and lengths of assignments. The length of assignments is subject to change. Please note that Career Gateway temporary positions do not have benefits, annual leave, or sick leave accrual.
This position does has the opportunity to go full time with the department
Length of Assignment: Approximately 4 months (This position does has the opportunity to go full time with the department)
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM
Rate of Pay: $17.00/hour
The position will provide front-line reception services and office support for the Haslam College of Business Center for Student Engagement and Success. This position functions as a support role for the reception area of the Haslam College of Business Center for Student Engagement and Success.
Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional front-line reception services for visitors to the Haslam College of Business Center for Student Engagement and Success.
- Welcomes and directs guests within the front-facing office environment of the Center.
- Utilizes sound judgment to assess and escalate in-person or telephone requests as necessary.
- Manages and prioritizes calls, emails, and correspondence from both internal and external stakeholders, routing them to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Oversee the scheduling and requirements of conference rooms.
- Handles sensitive requests with utmost confidentiality.
- Aids the Office Manager as needed.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including composing and editing correspondence, presentations, and reports.
- Outstanding professionalism and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with a wide range of personalities and communication styles.
- Ability to use sound judgement when making decisions, problem solving, and accessing information as needed.
- Strong knowledge of and experience using MS Office and related computer/software products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and manage projects simultaneously.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of the position.
Qualifications
Education:
Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: Associates Degree
Experience: 1-2 years
