Position Summary

Position End Date: 6/30/27.

The Simulation Coordinator is responsible for assisting with selecting, maintaining, operating, and organizing the course related simulation scenarios. The coordinator will collaborate with the Nursing Simulation Lab Manager and Purchasing Tech; Program and update scenario progressions; Provide regular maintenance of equipment including manikins and computers; Maintain inventory of simulation supplies & assist with purchasing within budget; Update technology systems; Assist with course scheduling; Assist with research and data collection.

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Make decisions and take actions independently for a variety of diverse situations.
  • Show a high degree of creativity and initiative.
  • Knowledge of the Nursing process, practice, and theory in the hospital and the community setting.
  • Knowledge of physiological, pharmacological, psychological, social-cultural, and spiritual nursing concepts.
  • Ability to assist with the research of appropriate course scenarios in relation to student learning gaps.
  • Skilled in use of audio-visual equipment, the operation, and maintenance of manikins.
  • Ability to apply appropriate manikin moulage to enhance simulation scenarios.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, and repairing hardware, software, and equipment in an emergent manner.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology.
  • Maintain set-up of simulation suites, simulation equipment, and scenario supplies.
  • Clean, replenish, maintain catalogue/inventory, and assists in the ordering and delivery of related simulation equipment and supplies taking into consideration department budgetary constraints.
  • Communicate and troubleshoots with supply vendor.
  • Assembles scenario-driven medications when needed.
  • Participate in department/school meetings and campus-wide professional development programs.
  • Must adhere to OSHA guidelines in the simulation settings


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years in related profession as simulation coordinator or comparable role.
  • Nursing License
  • CPR Certification


Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate in Simulation Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)
  • Familiar with NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model, the nursing process and INACSL Standards


Salary Information

Administrative Faculty Grade C - The starting salary is 68,063. *

This position is contingent upon ongoing and available funding.
