Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Associate Atheltic Director for External Affairs and Revenue Generation, the Associate Athletic Director for Equipment Operations and Purchasing manages and oversees the maintenance of athletic and sports equipment for all University intercollegiate sports programs.



This position requires frequent travel, as well as evening and weekend hours.



Essential FunctionsÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

  • Manages and oversees the maintenance of athletic and sports equipment for 22 intercollegiate sports programs.

  • Establishes, maintains, and reconciles uniform and equipment inventories, and oversees the maintenance of all inventory records for the program with respect to the issue, purchase, distribution, repair, reconditioning and use of athletic and sports equipment.

  • Assumes oversight of the ordering, distribution, and retrieval of Nike apparel and accessories for student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff.

  • As a primary liaison with Nike representatives, this position will maintain a positive relationship and communicate regularly with numerous professionals at Nike headquarters.

  • Works closely with the coaching staff to determine needs and generates purchase orders to acquire athletic and sports equipment within budgetary allocations.

  • Oversees the fitting and necessary adjustments needed for uniforms and athletic equipment for practices and games.

  • Oversees and coordinates uniform and equipment distribution and retrieval at practices and on game days.

  • Supervises the transportation of athletic equipment to off-campus events for all away football games. Must attend all football practices, and home and away football games.

  • Oversees the proper set-up of equipment and uniforms for both home and away football games.

  • Responsible for the laundry operation by providing laundry service for practice apparel and uniforms.

  • Oversees the Assistant Equipment Manager.

  • Supervises, hires and trains a staff of work-study students.

  • Complies with all NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.

Management ResponsibilitiesÂÂ

Supervises the work of other Fordham employees who are individual contributors. Responsible for hiring, training and developing, managing performance and administering corrective action. Has significant input in compensation decisions.



Required Qualifications: Education and ExperienceÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum 2 years’ of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Successfully passes and maintains AEMA Certification within one year.




Required Qualifications: Knowledge and SkillsÂÂÂÂÂ

  • Must be extremely well organized and highly motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.




Preferred QualificationsÂ

  • Intercollegiate athletic department equipment room experience.




Minimum Starting Salary: $75,000



Maximum Starting Salary: $87,090



Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
