The primary location of this position is the main campus in Cullowhee, NC.

The College of Engineering and Technology at Western Carolina University (WCU) is growing! We are recruiting for a faculty position in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field, at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank to serve a foundational role in developing and growing new programs in emerging technology fields. Faculty are routinely expected to teach in multiple topic areas at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek candidates with teaching and research expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Cyber-Physical Systems
Digital Twins
Embedded Control Systems and Verification (Hardware-in-the-Loop)
Machine Learning
Quantum Computing, Sensing, Communications
Semiconductor Devices (Simulation, Characterization, Reliability)
Wide Bandgap Power Electronics

This is a nine-month tenure/tenure-track position. Rank will be determined at the point of hire. The anticipated start date is August 2025. The successful candidate should have an interest and commitment to teaching, scholarship, and professional service.

WCU's Engineering and Engineering Technology programs are accredited by ABET's EAC and ETAC, respectively.
