Coordinator, Service-Learning Data & Student Outreach

Job Summary
The Coordinator, Student-Learning Data & Student Outreach tracks data and trends for all office goals and coordinates efforts to enhance the office's impact on performance-based funding metrics. This position works closely with the office team to translate data toward implementing processes and programs to reach office goals. This position oversees outreach efforts to students and campus partners to facilitate the process of tracking, verifying, and completing the university service-learning hours graduation requirement.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Tracks, assesses, and maintains updated and accessible data on all student progress and office efforts toward the goal of helping students meaningfully reach their service-learning graduation requirement.
  • Continuously analyzes data and trends to make recommendations for the office to advance the university's strategic plan goals and meet statewide Performance Based Funding metrics.
  • Collaborates with campus partners, including professional and student staff, to communicate regularly and effectively with students regarding their progress toward meeting the graduation service-learning requirement.
  • Collaborates with campus partners to provide guidance to students in trouble-shooting challenges toward reaching their service-learning requirement.
  • Communicates with students regarding their progress toward meeting the graduation service-learning requirement; communicates trends with supervisors.
  • Assists with processing student service-learning records to ensure student progress and accurate and updated information is available to each student and all appropriate administrators.
  • Works collaboratively with other office staff to integrate efforts toward one another's respective goals.
  • Participates in the creation of strategic goals by providing data and highlighting trends to ensure better rates of completion each year for the service-learning graduation requirement.
  • Assesses and reports growth and effectiveness of the office's efforts toward helping students meet the service-learning graduation requirement to supervisor and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement that enables the office to achieve its strategic goals.
  • Advises and collaborates as needed with campus partners to provide students with resources and support.
  • May assist with recruiting, hiring, and training of OPS and part-time student employees.


Other Duties:
  • May serve on department as well as cross-campus committees as needed.
  • Provides basic assistance in all areas of the office during peak periods and during planned events.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements for a Coordinator I, Service-Learning Data & Student Outreach:
  • This position requires either six years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.


Minimum Requirements for a Coordinator II, Service-Learning Data & Student Outreach:
  • This position requires either eight years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of current student trends and effective communication methods.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn student information systems (Banner, Work Day, Simplicity, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively manage the work of others by providing information, guidance, and motivation.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work when numerous and diverse demands are involved.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and learn new applications and systems.

Applicants will be evaluated for roles as either Coordinator Level I or Level II based on their qualifications.
