Job Title: Entry Laboratory Sciences Professional

Job Summary:
This position involves performing basic and preclinical research on obesity and its metabolic complications. Studies will include molecular and physiological assessments of animal models, in situ and in vitro studies of metabolism and metabolic markers. Responsibilities will involve implementation and performance of animal and cell culture experiments, tissue processing, data processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rodent handling, exercising, feeding, weighing, and welfare checks.
- General laboratory cleaning and organization.
- Small animal survival surgery, necropsy, and tissue collection/processing.
- Data entry
- Jess, ELISA and other antibody and cytokine assays.
- PCR, Western blotting, staining and other molecular analyses.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, cellular biology, molecular biology, physiology, exercise science, or related field.
- A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience or background within an experimental or clinical lab
- Experience with rodent handling.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
- Strong organizational and record keeping skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $45,000 - $57,240.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
