Part-Time Instructor, Land Surveying - FY 2025
Job Description
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by department need. This position may close early if the hiring need is filled, or we receive too many applications.
Responsibilities
Part-time instructor for college courses listed on the BAS Land Surveying program, including all SURV prefix courses, CEM 100, CEE 121, CEE 250, and CADD 421. This is an ongoing application pool from which instructors will be interviewed and evaluated on an as-needed basis. The review of applications typically occurs roughly 30 - 60 days before the start date of each semester.
Job Duties
Teach college-level courses in the field.
Develop syllabi and course materials in accordance with college policy.
Maintain records, submit grades, and communicate with department and college personnel using established college/department protocol and the college's learning management system.
Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities, and program/curriculum development.
Required Qualifications
For both lecture and lab land surveying instructors:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Holder of currently active professional land surveying (PLS) license
- Ability to use educational technology, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Canvas LMS (learning management system)
- Ability and willingness to use campus email for all official communication.
Starting Salary
$925 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
