Job Description:
The Assistant Director will work closely with the California Psychiatric Advanced Directives (CA PADs) project leadership, project partners, and research team to oversee the evaluation of PADs in California. This includes leading the design and implementation of evaluation activities such as semi-structured interviews, surveys, participant observation, and focus groups, as well as producing high-quality reports and deliverables. It also includes developing or assisting in the development of project management materials and reports. In this key role, the Assistant Director will supervise research staff, manage project timelines, and ensure compliance with contract requirements, while contributing to the development of project protocols, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement. The Assistant Director will also meet regularly with the Project Director to review and address project challenges and report progress.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct and oversee the comprehensive evaluation of the PADs project, including stakeholder knowledge and acceptance, implementation effectiveness, accessibility, and impact on individuals with mental health challenges and their networks. This includes evaluating the development, implementation, and accessibility of the PADs-related technology platform across multiple counties, including Orange County, while ensuring alignment with established research protocols and standards.
- Supervise and mentor research staff and students assigned to the CA PADs project, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to project timelines.
- Manage project implementation across seven or more California counties, providing guidance, troubleshooting issues, and advising the CA PADs Project Director and Senior BBI staff on barriers and facilitators to progress.
- Other tasks as assigned.
