NCWIT welcomes applications for the Elevate Quantum Senior Project Manager! NCWIT widens inclusion in the technology ecosystem through innovative programs and research. NCWIT is part of the College of Engineering & Applied Science at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU).

NCWIT has received funding to diversify quantum computing in partnership with a broad range of organizations in the Rocky Mountain west. Funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Agency (EDA), this program works with the Elevate Quantum non-profit (EQ) to build diverse workforce readiness in quantum educational pathways and careers across the Rocky Mountain West, including Colorado and New Mexico. NCWIT will lead the EQ INCLUDE Pillar, including coordination of all funded sub-awardees and vendor programs across multiple states. This project will scale over a period of 5 years.

The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) is the farthest-reaching network of change leaders focused on advancing innovation by correcting underrepresentation in computing. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


Project Management:
  • Manage and maintain the EQ INCLUDE pillar central project management system, CRM database, and all documentation including the EQ funded sub-awardee and contracted vendor agreements.
  • Organize EQ INCLUDE pillar initiative program implementation, landmarks, and outcomes across multiple institutions and states. Analyze progress and ensure alignment with goals.
  • Maintain a diligent focus on risk management by identifying project vulnerabilities, developing mitigation plans, and leading teams in proactive issue resolution.
  • Gather evaluation data from EQ INCLUDE pillar sub-awardees and contracted vendors on behalf of the evaluation team.
  • Lead the preparation of EDA progress reports in collaboration with the project leadership team
  • Lead the development of EQ INCLUDE pillar project management manuals, training materials, and other documents to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to others.
  • Plan and lead weekly meetings of the EQ INCLUDE pillar and broader EQ Consortium as needed. Attend other relevant project meetings and manage action items.
  • Onboard and train new team members on policies, processes, and expectations.
  • Facilitate required processes with the EQ nonprofit.

Communications:
  • Serve as the point of contact for the INCLUDE project management unit.
  • Create and maintain essential communication channels with project collaborators. Provide regular high-level project updates and engage in collaborative problem-solving.
  • Maintain and monitor EQ INCLUDE pillar's central communication systems (e.g. Slack, Freshdesk).
  • Partner with the Communications team to share EQ INCLUDE pillar sub-awardee and contracted event activity calendars, amplifying efforts of all program partners across the Rocky Mountain West.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with EQ INCLUDE program constituents in Colorado and New Mexico, as well as the EQ INCLUDE management team and Consortium management at large.
  • Coordinate efforts between all EQ INCLUDE pillar sub-awardees, vendors, and the Project Management Unit (NCWIT, CU, and CNMI).
  • Represent NCWIT and EQ Consortium at various meetings, conferences and industry events as needed across the Rocky Mountain West.

Other Duties:
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Stay apprised and current on relevant CU and State of Colorado policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development activities and serve on unit, college, or campus committees as applicable.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging cross-disciplinary work and integration of diverse perspectives.
  • Advocate for diversity and inclusion, implementing initiatives that support broadening participation in STEM fields. Promote policies that reflect sensitivity to cultural, political, and geographical diversity.


What You Should Know


Must be located in Colorado. Must be able to travel throughout the Rocky Mountain West (Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming) several times per year or as requested.


What We Can Offer


The starting salary range for this position is $65,000 - $70,000. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience in related field; PMP certification can be substituted for years of experience.
  • Experience managing complex government projects involving extensive collaboration across numerous partners, coordinating diverse activities, and aligning efforts toward shared objectives.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% within the Rocky Mountain West.
