The Associate Director performs both leadership and specialist roles to support the work of UVU Online, including but not limited to operations, project management, quality control, strategic planning, communication, and collaboration with stakeholders (internal and external). This role involves collaboration across divisions with institutional stakeholders to identify key online initiatives and optimize systems, processes, and technologies related to online learning at UVU.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to advance online programs in close collaboration with the Director of UVU Online. This includes conducting in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends in online education and assessing the evolving needs of students, faculty, and the broader educational landscape. The Associate Director will work with cross-functional teams to define long-term goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with the university's mission, vision, and strategic priorities. The Associate Director will regularly evaluate and refine strategies based on data insights, feedback from stakeholders, and performance metrics to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of online programs.
- Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of online program and marketing initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and in alignment with institutional goals. The Associate Director will coordinate cross-departmental-teams, track project milestones, and provide consistent communication and updates to stakeholders, while also ensuring all projects adhere to university policies, procedures, and practices. The Associate Director will provide leadership support and guidance to project and marketing teams, address challenges and facilitate effective collaboration to achieve project outcomes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: The Associate Director will actively engage with both internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, administrators, and industry partners, to solicit feedback and foster strategic partnerships that support university's objectives for online programs. The Associate Director will utilize various feedback mechanisms to capture a broad range of perspectives and ensure that the voices of key stakeholders inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts. The Associate Director will cultivate strong, collaborative relationships that contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of online programs.
- Quality Control: The Associate Director will monitor and assess the effectiveness of systems, processes, and workflows within UVU Online to ensure high-quality standards and operational efficiency. The Associate Director will identify areas for process improvement, implement best practices, and ensure that all online programs meet or exceed quality standards. The Associate Director will conduct regular evaluations to maintain the highest level of service delivery and continuous improvement in all aspects of online education.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related field with marketing experience, plus a minimum of two years of directly related experience OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling eight years.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree, higher education marketing experience, academic program management experience, project management experience, plus three years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling nine years

- An understanding of online learning and instructional technology, including current trends, challenges, and innovations.
- Knowledge of higher education organizations, particularly in academic support areas.
- Understanding of assessment methods and process analysis.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report data.
- Understanding faculty, student, and staff roles in delivering and engaging in effective learning environments; methods to improve retention and completion rates.
- Knowledge of UVU's demographic profile and fully online learners' needs and preferences.
- Problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional organizational, operations, process management, project management, marketing, and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal forms.
