Job Summary
The School of Education at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks one full-time assistant teaching professor in the Equity, Bilingualism, and Biliteracy (EBB) program beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. We seek to hire a faculty member who is committed to teacher education focused on the preparation of anti-racist teachers who will work with culturally and linguistically diverse students, including bilingual learners and students with disabilities, and to educational equity and justice. Our new hire will demonstrate evidence of strong U.S.-based PK-12 teaching with emergent bilingual students, as well as experience teaching university undergraduate or graduate elementary teacher education courses.
The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment. We are an Equal Opportunity employer, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
Who We Are
This faculty member will work at the intersection of the Elementary Education and Equity, Bilingualism and Biliteracy (EBB) programs in the School of Education. In EBB, we are devoted to the critical examination of theory, practice, and policy in two major areas of emphasis: the education of culturally and linguistically diverse students and the education of exceptional children. We stress analysis, evaluation, and implementation of educational programs for students who represent diverse learning needs. Our BA in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education, aims to prepare reflective, ethical, anti-racist and inclusive elementary (K-6) teachers. Our faculty recognizes that U.S. schools have a long and troubled history of perpetuating racial and other forms of inequality and injustice - advantaging certain students, while disadvantaging others. Thus, our program is designed to facilitate the preparation of reflective, ethical and responsive teachers who are committed to making the world more equitable and just, through their work in public schools and the communities they serve.
