Job Description Summary
The Philadelphia Regional Center for Children's Environmental Health is hiring one temporary, part-time Administrative Director to support our Center. This position has an expected term length of 5-6 months.

Job Description

Tasks to include but not limited to:
  • Managing Center events, from hosting webinars, organizing the Annual Symposium in July, and promoting events
  • Developing marketing or educational materials in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud including brochures, social media campaigns, visualizations, web content, newsletters, marketing materials and products;
  • Overseeing the Center budget, procurement and grants administration. Work with the Business Administrator on a regular basis;
  • Editing and updating the website in Wordpress;
  • Perform jobs and activities to support the larger PRCCEH center, its grants, events and translational programs.


The position is part time of 20-30 hours per week with flexibility based on available work. Office space is available and at least half of the hours are expected to be on-site on the Penn Medicine Campus.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent.

The Philadelphia Regional Center for Children's Environmental Health is an NIEHS grant-funded center dedicated to developing and supporting innovative research and transitional programs focused on children's environmental health issues.

The Philadelphia Regional Center for Children's Environmental Health strives to improve the health and wellness of children across the country, by first starting in our own backyard: Philadelphia and the surrounding region.

The children in our area face many environmental threats and health problems- asthma, lead poisoning, air pollution and toxic chemicals. Our newest focus area is climate change. Together, our partners and member researchers work to implement real world solutions and interventions in Philadelphia to serve as a model for success elsewhere.

The Center was founded in December 2021 at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and our membership includes researchers from 7 other regional institutions and universities.

Qualifications (preferred, not mandatory)
  • At least 5 years experience with office administration, including budget management and procurement
  • At least 1 years experience working in Wordpress, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or equivalents
  • Experience with marketing or outreach, specifically social media marketing
  • Experience with event management, including promotion and planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to jump into an existing program, take initiative and work independently
