Job Summary
The textile design researcher will work with the Unstable Design Lab, as well as researchers from the University of Colorado, to create a series of samples inspired by challenges currently faced by engineering researchers and complete work that is fit for publication in a related field. Advanced knowledge of the operation and maintenance of the Jacquard model TC-2 is required.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The designer will be expected to work at least 30 hours per week with the lab members and collaborators evolving concepts that address the designer's interests as well as the engineering teams' needs. To facilitate the exploration of projects of mutual interest, the organizers will schedule meetings with various researchers during the first week of the residency to better understand their needs and challenges when it comes to integrating textile structures into their research.
What We Can Offer
The salary range for this temporary, part-time position is $25.00 - $27.00 per hour.

What We Require
Masters in Fine Arts in Fibers and Material Studies or a related field.
What You Will Need
Knowledge of engineering research and the role that textiles can play within it; Experience making rapid samples and textile tests with unusual materials; Theoretical grounding in contemporary art and design language.
