About the Opportunity:

The Department of Public Health and Health Sciences in the Bouve College of Health Sciences of Northeastern University is hiring part-time lecturers for the Summer term at the Oakland campus.

The Department's mission is to promote the health and well-being of diverse individuals, communities, and populations through health care innovations and interdisciplinary collaborative initiatives across all scientific fields, engineering, and the humanities. Responsibilities include: Preparing syllabi, lectures, course materials, all examinations including a final exam, and evaluations of student performance in the course; Developing and implementing materials for lectures for in-person or online/hybrid courses. Working under the direction of the Lead Faculty for certain courses; Holding required office hours; Engaging productively with teaching assistants; Collaborating on course revisions and improvements with department faculty and the University's Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning through Research (CATLR).

Summer 1 Term:



Classes: In-person 5/5/25 - 6/18/25

Final Exams: scheduled independently 6/23 - 6/24.

Grades Due: 6/26 by 2:00pm EST.

Undergraduate courses are scheduled in-person during the day, 2-3 days per week between the hours of 8:00am-6:35pm.

PHTH 2300. Communication Skills for the Health Professions. Offers students in the health professions an opportunity to learn how to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other professionals. Covers interpersonal communication with patients and families from culturally diverse backgrounds, public speaking and presentations, and communicating as a leader. Requires students to create/prepare and deliver several presentations throughout the semester.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have at least a Masters in an appropriate field. Doctoral degrees and teaching experience are preferred.
