The Title IX Case Coordinator reports the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Support & Response and serves as a contact for the University of Tennessee Knoxville community including students, faculty, and staff who are seeking services from the Office of Title IX .
Responsibilities
Serve as the initial point of contact for individuals involved in Title IX-related matters for the University of Tennessee Knoxville community including faculty, staff, and students.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Ensure timely follow-up and closure of cases.
Ensure compliance with Title IX, Clery Act, and other relevant policies and procedures.
Utilize records management system, documenting initial contact, supportive measures, and actions taken to ensure compliance with Title IX, VAWA, and University Policy.
Document, as appropriate, in the records management system to ensure a complete timeline of the University's actions related to the Office of Title IX.
Coordinate with campus and community resources (e.g., counseling, law enforcement, healthcare) to ensure the comprehensive needs of individuals are met.
Ensures parties are informed of rights, resources, and reporting options.
Develop on-going referral relationships with community partners by routine outreach and participation in community activities.
Assist in the evaluation of needs of involved parties and coordinate with campus and community resources (e.g., counseling, law enforcement, healthcare) to ensure the comprehensive needs of individuals are met
Facilitate and track supportive measures such as no-contact orders, academic accommodations, and housing modifications.
Participate in regular training opportunities to stay current on Federal, State, and University laws, policies, and guidance.
Provide support for various office initiatives, such as: Sexual Assault Awareness Month events, tabling at campus events, annual reporting, etc.
Assist in monitoring and responding to shared email inbox.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or related Field
- Experience: Experience managing responses to mental health related crisis situations.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; Ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple projects; Working knowledge of treatment programs, mental health terminology, including diagnostic categories; General knowledge of medical privacy guidelines; Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field
- Experience: 1 yr experience in a community mental health center and/or crisis service response in higher education or other setting.
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of case management practices within a higher education setting; Knowledge of systems such as Banner, Maxient, and CS Gold.
