Job Summary:

The laboratory of Dr. David DiGregorio at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Physiology and Biophysics, is seeking a highly motivated Research Services Laboratory Sciences Professional to provide technical and managerial support for research focused on understanding how brain cells use their synapses to control the timing of motor and cognitive actions. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in advanced neuroscience techniques while contributing to impactful research in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

This position is open to candidates at various experience levels, from recent university graduates (entry professional) to experienced lab managers (senior professional). Responsibilities will be tailored to match the qualifications and expertise of the selected candidate. Work Location:

Onsite - This role is expected to work onsite in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry-Level
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or a related field.

Intermediate-Level
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of related experience

Senior-Level
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of related experience
    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics, or related field
  • Master's degree in biological science or STEM field.
  • Hands-on research experience in an academic lab.
  • Experience working with rodents.
  • Experience conducting mouse surgeries.
  • Experience in systems neuroscience.
  • Experience modifying or writing IACUC protocols.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
  • The ability to learn and effectively use computer software for analyzing electrophysiology data.
  • The ability to communicate well with the PI and fellow lab mates.
  • Self-motivated, creative problem solver that can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and effectively adapt to a varied and shifting workload.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:

Entry Level: $45,000-57,240

Intermediate Level: $48,970-$62,290

Senior Level: $52,941- 67,341

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
