Job Description
The University of Tennessee's Career Gateway is looking to fill the temporary assignment of Bindery Assistant with University Print and Mail. Through temporary assignment placements, Career Gateway allows the opportunity to work with various departments while gaining valuable work experience. Each assignment has differing pay rates, work schedules, and lengths of assignments. The length of assignments is subject to change. Please note that Career Gateway temporary positions do not have benefits, annual leave, or sick leave accrual.

Length of Assignment: Approximately 6 months

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM

Rate of Pay: $16.00/hour

Responsibilities

Operate light bindery equipment such as cutter, three hole drills, automatic punch, laminator, coil and spiral binders, thermal binder, score/perf/fold equipment, Horizon collator and stitcher, shrink wrap tunnel, padding equipment, etc.
Perform manual bindery functions as assigned.
Write up delivery slips for finished jobs.
Package finished jobs for delivery.
Organize leftover materials for storage and disposition.
Maintain light bindery equipment and general work area.

Qualifications

Knowledge of light bindery equipment.
Skills to operate and maintain light bindery equipment.
Ability to use a variety of different light bindery equipment from different manufacturers.
Knowledge of light bindery principles, techniques and materials.
Good mechanical skills.
Good math and communication skills.
Knowledge of various types of paper and printing techniques.
