Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking a strategic and community-oriented program director for a new Lansing Spartan Scholars program, set to launch in Fall 2025. This inaugural position will lead efforts for coordinating and leading initiatives to enhance student success, strengthen ties between MSU and the Lansing community, and aim to close opportunity gaps and achieve an 86% graduation rate.

The Program Director will manage holistic student support services, including advising, promoting high-impact practices, teaching a first-year seminar, conducting outreach to local schools, and fostering connections with community organizations and businesses. The Director will implement a strategic recruitment plan and manage the application process for new cohorts. In addition, the position encompasses overall management responsibilities, including supervision of staff, budget management, and collaboration with campus partners to support student success initiatives. This position will also involve strategic planning for program goals and outcomes, contributing to MSU's broader mission to ensure all students can thrive and graduate.

The Lansing Spartan Scholars program will be part of the Office of Undergraduate Education within the Office of the Provost, which oversees initiatives aimed at enhancing undergraduate learning and student success.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant field, 5+ years of experience in program management or student services, knowledge of student success theories and practices, and strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications: Terminal degree in higher education or related field, familiarity with the Lansing community, experience in teaching, advising, or mentoring students, and grant writing and budget management experience.

Salary Range: $70,000-80,000
