Position Description
The Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenured/tenure-track, Open Rank Professor to begin Fall 2025.
Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
Required Qualifications
- An earned doctorate in nutrition, public health, health policy, dietetics or related disciplines
- Demonstrated record of effective teaching at the college level, commensurate with rank
- Demonstrated record of receiving extramural research grants, commensurate with rank
- Demonstrated record of collaborative research projects about nutrition in human health
- Demonstrated record of peer reviewed publications, commensurate with rank
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Demonstrated record of collaborative research projects in community nutrition, public health nutrition or nutrition-related health policy
- Research focus on the impact of nutrition on health of human population, or the relationship between nutrition and human health
- Experience with implementing and evaluating community outreach programs such as extension services in the United States and/or Texas
- Extramural funding received as principal investigator, commensurate with rank
- Peer reviewed publications in high visibility journals as principal author (first or last author or corresponding author), commensurate with rank
- Impactful and independent contribution to the field of expertise as demonstrated by h index, manuscript citations, impact on community health, or similar measures, commensurate with rank
