Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Enterprise Application Services, this role supports business processes and operational systems for core enterprise technology functions, including troubleshooting applications and software for internal customers across various departments. Responsibilities include implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and auditing data system security, overseeing computer operations, and coordinating the production of forms and documents. The position also involves managing communications, production schedules, and services to meet the needs of District staff. The role is a professional contributor, working independently under direction.




1. Provide functional support to users - identify and resolve application issues. Escalate and coordinate issues requiring management, department, Enterprise Administrator, or vendor support. Serves as second tier help desk support for enterprise applications.

2. Consults with users and vendors in diagnosing and solving enterprise application software and data-related problems.

3. Sets and monitors automation schedules incorporating ad hoc requests and business process defined jobs; processes scheduled and ad hoc job requests in data systems.

4. Creates, modifies, updates, and troubleshoots systems user accounts, passwords, and security clearances; implements, monitors, and audits systems security authorization and permissions; evaluates releases for security needs for assigned applications.

5. Develop and maintain Help Desk Knowledge Base articles for assigned application systems. Writes guides and support material for end users.

6. Provide support for enterprise database integrity, including duplicate records management.

7. Identify and learn appropriate enterprise software applications used and supported by the organization.

8. Conducts a periodic review of system security, ensuring that account requests and access permissions are appropriate and comply with audit standards.

9. Ensures that output and logs created by scheduled jobs are reviewed and that issues are quickly addressed by appropriate staff members.

10. Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems; provide post implementation support.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.




Required Qualifications
  • A typical manner in which to gain the requisite education and experience is through the completion of a two-year degree at a university in Computer Science a related field
  • Three years of hands-on experience with user provisioning, computer operations, and application support.


Desirable Qualifications
  • 2 years of prior experience supporting Ellucian products (Ellucian Experience, Banner, CRM Recruit, Banner Access Management), reporting tools such as ARGOS or Ellucian Insights, and scheduling tools such as UC4 or ISE Scheduler.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • In-depth, hands-on experience with enterprise applications such as Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Experience, CRM Recruit, Banner Access Management, and reporting and scheduling tools like Evisions ARGOS, Ellucian Insights, UC4, or ISE Scheduler.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques, including the ability to proactively ensure systems are functioning properly and resolve application issues.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and techniques, including PL/SQL, Postgres, Oracle database structures, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to write and modify scripts to support enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency with source and version control systems such as Git.
  • Ability to develop, interpret, and compose clear and concise technical documentation for training, end-user procedures, correspondence, and reports.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices surrounding enterprise applications, including data security, and the ability to implement, monitor, and audit data system security authorization and permissions.
  • Experience in developing and coordinating application testing plans, setting and monitoring automation schedules, and creating and processing ad hoc requests.
  • Skill in evaluating user needs, and creating, building, and modifying forms, documents, and reports for data processing and reporting.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, explain, and ensure compliance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures, make sound decisions regarding access control, and review situations accurately to determine appropriate actions.
  • Competence in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, understanding the scope of authority, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships, and effectively communicating and following oral and written instructions.
