Job Description
Installs, tests and troubleshoots new and existing data and telephone circuits to include category cabling (cat 5 and cat 6) fiber optic cabling and outside plant cabling for wireless access points, cameras, end user equipment, servers, and other network related equipment.


Responsibilities
  • Installation of fiber/Copper cable for inside & outside plant.
  • Installation of phones across campus.
  • Installation of outside wireless access points.
  • Trouble shooting issues with fiber/copper infrastructure.
  • Completion of paperwork for all work orders daily.
  • Other related duties.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Associates degree or equivalent related experience
  • Experience: 2 years of experience
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of installation practices. Knowledge of how network systems operate. Knowledge of how to use test equipment OTDR, power meter, toners and label maker. Ability to work in various conditions. indoors, outdoor, confined space crowded closets, and off ladder. Ability to interact with various customers and contractors.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associates degree or equivalent related experience
  • Experience: 2 years of experience
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: General telecommunication Knowledge.


Work Location
  • This will be an onsite position located in Knoxville, Tn.


Compensation and Benefits
  • UT market range: MR07
  • Anticipated hiring range: $37,147.80 - $50,000
