Primary Purpose of Organization Unit:
Process Undergraduate Admission applications and facilitate the recruitment of prospective students

Primary Purpose of Position:
Serve as a front desk operator and receptionist, and the first line of response to the shared undergraduate admissions email. Assists in managing the undergraduate application record by linking and attaching documents with the goal of bringing the application to a complete status. Input inquiry data and assist in removing and merging duplicate application records and contacts. Complete daily application fee deposit and reconciliation process. Tracks daily visitors, confirms tour registrants and completes outreach for visit rescheduling, prepares campus tour packets and welcome kits, and ensures Office of Admissions guests are greeted and partnered with an Enrollment professional for support.

Job Description:
Data Entry - Inputs prospective student data from all contact sources including recruiter contact cards, email, web, purchased names, etc. into the student data system which is currently Salesforce. Some sources require download of data to Excel format, edit and merge into Word document for data entry. Manages effective document linking and status updating by student type.

Communication/Written - Management of emails coming into admissions@uncp.edu address. Receive all email directed to the general admissions address. Must review each email and either reply, request more information or forward to the appropriate party within the Admissions Office or to various departments on campus.

Mail - Reviews outgoing mail to ensure that students are receiving appropriate correspondence in a timely manner. Assists with opening, date stamping and distributing Office of Admissions incoming mail as needed during peak times for office visitation. Prepares outbound mailings such as acceptance packets, and events outreach postcards.

Contact with Public - Serves as a primary receptionist and backup to the switchboard operator. During times of position vacancy, vacation or sick leave days and lunch breaks the Data Entry Operator II serves as a backup to these two vital positions as needed. Participates in rotation for lunch break coverage when assigned.

Other duties as assigned to support excellent student and stakeholder service.

Management Preference:
Minimum High School Diploma, Data entry experience, Provides excellent customer service, and presents with a team player attitude in a robust and high volume environment. Proficiency in using MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook systems, Ability to multi-task with keen attention to detail, self-starter, and completes timely data entry with accuracy.
